I thought the video was pretty neat. I personally think it is important to know more than one language. This is because the way that the world is growing now and places people are traveling to, knowing just English is not going to be enough. A lot of useful things in America, that we need to help fight things like cancer and other scientific things, were started from people who did not speak English. I feel that we should accept what they offer to the table even though it may be in a different language because if you look at it from the outside in you realize how much we need what others have to offer. There just has to be a way in order to translate what they have to say into English but just because they speak a different language, it should not be declined. Science is very universal and no matter the language we should find a way to be able to share it because everyone can benefit from it.
Famous Hispanic
For my person I chose Bernardo Aberto Houssay. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 10, 1887. He was a scientist who won a Nobel Prize for his research of pituitary hormones in the regulation of blood sugar. He was very smart and started college at age 14 and he received his M.D degree at age 23. He founded the Institute of Physiology and also the Institute of Biogoly and Experimental Medicine. One of his top discoveries dealth with the onset of diabetes, which has helped us now to truly understand what diabetes are and things that help maintain it.

article
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/01/van-der-sloot-charged-with-murder-in-peru/?iref=allsearch
This article and also one more very similar was talking about Joran Van der Sloot. He has been charged with the murder of a Peruvian woman. He tried to flee the country in which those individuals who attepted to help him are also being punished. The prosecutors are asking for him to seek a 30 year jail sentence for his crime. Somet think 30 years is too long because he has not showed any more acts of violence. The trial will be open to the public. Van der Sloot was once a prime suspect in an investigation involving the 18 year also that was never seen again after her trip to Peru for her graduation trip.

Marica's first blog entry (spanish 2)
his semester, I hope to end up with a high A in the class just like I did in spanish 1. I hope to keep up with my work in all of my classes since they all will benefit me in the future. I like blogging because it's a great way to add technology in the classrooms and since students spend a lot of time on the internet, it will not have students feeling bored when completing assignments. I'm the type of students who works a lot but will get my work done even if it's late at night or early in the morning.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/americas/04/08/mexico.mass.graves/index.html?iref=allsearch
This article is about a mass killing that has recently occurred in Mexico. Investigators are constantly finding mass graves with more bodies in it. A report was made around March about a kidnapping dealing with a bus. Forensic investigators are trying to identify the bodies and see if some of the people are from the kidnapping. Many of the bodies are of Mexican nationals. This is going on in Tamaulipas and it's showing how the government there is not dealing with the security of the public as much as they should. This area has always been bad with drug trafficking and as of now the investigation is still being continued.

music video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMIh12Gw_08&feature=related
this song sounded like a sad song. It reminded me of one of those songs that you would listen to when you are feeling really emotional for some reason. I think it was a song that had meaning to it and could relate to life unlike a lot of music is now-a-days. This singer had a nice voice and something pretty soothing to sit down and listen to :)
