This article was about a study on dwarfs in Equador. Dwarfs are people typically 4'10". In this study however, it was done on dwarfs who were not taller than four feet which like being the height of a seven year old for your entire life. The study took place over 22 years and was mainly looking at how these particular dwarfs because they never developed diabetes or cancer with their genetic disorder. Only one had a cancer and she has been cancer-free ever since it was treated three years ago. The study just goes to show how this genetic mutation can prevent someone from having cancer and/or diabetes.
This article really interested me becuase I am actually and inch taller than being classified as a dwarf so its always cool for me to read something that can possibly be something that I have to deal with in the future. I personally love being short even though people are always reminding me of how short I am but its good to know that there is a possiblility that I will never develop cancer or diabetes just because of a possible mutation of not being able to grow.

Marica's first blog entry
This semester I hope to get a high 'A' in this class. I'm positive that if I study, I will. I'm sure that this class will help me in the professional world after high school, and even at my job now. Blogging reminds me of twitter in a way and just expressing how you feel about certain things that are going on in your life. I've never actually used this before but I somewhat like it but i think twitter is still my favorite. It seems like a pretty useful tool to keep up with some of your classmates and see how they are progressing through the class. I know that some college classes use something similar to this.
